The Axis Story
Crafting Quality Custom Campervans Since 2015
As an adventurous family, we want to help other adventurous folks get outside more. That means dependable vans that fit into everyday life as easily as they fit in the wild.
We’re Gretchen Bayless and Taylor Hood, and Axis Vehicle Outfitters grew out of a need for simple and durable vans for our rental company, Roamerica. And grew into a business of its own.
What we discovered when shopping for vans for our own fleet was that most custom vans are way overbuilt. They sound (and look) fancy and exciting, but the reality is they are heavy, crowded, and loaded with bells and whistles that you never end up using.
We’re busy parents who love a good time out in nature with family and friends. So we came up with a clean design that reduces weight while being extremely durable and functional, while also being super easy to maintain.
We look forward to giving you the best experience possible during your van build and beyond.
